First year junior guard Jeff West, 8, prepares for his a speed-drop from the back of moving boat. The technique is used to get guards to a rescue situation quickly in the surf where a boat would be unable to slow down or stop for aid. Although West was hesitant to jump off, after a few tries he said the speed-drops were a lot of fun.
